Edinburgh and Newcastle airports close
November 29th, 2010 by elisa

While Heathrow won’t be closing this winter (we hope), Edinburgh and Newcastle airports have closed today due to the recent heavy snow. Domestic passengers will face long delays even when they do open as many more flights have been suspended around the country.

Heavy snow has mainly affected the north and east so far and flights have been delayed or cancelled at Inverness, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Durham and Norwich.

All airports are advising passengers to check ahead with their airline before travelling to the airport and leave extra time while travelling in case of snow blocked roads.

The forecast for the rest of the week does not get better either, with some areas predicted to see temperatures drop to -20C! The snow is moving southwards tonight, hitting London and the south east.
