Industrial action at airports in France and Portugal is threatening to disrupt flights to and from both countries from Wednesday.
Easyjet pilots in France are planning to strike on 15, 17 and 19th August, and ground handling staff at Faro and Oporto are threatening a walk out on 15th and 17th August. Easyjet is urging all passengers due to travel this week to check the status of their flights on the website.
A spokeswoman said that Easyjet expects to operate its full flying programme in France and will try to minimise any impact on passengers.
She said: “The company regrets that some of its pilots have chosen to move ahead with an industrial action rather than coming back to the negotiations table, particularly in this busy period for holidaymakers”.
“The Management remains open to discussion and calls the SNPL union representatives to resume negotiations.”
Easyjet also hopes that any disruption in Portugal will be kept to a minimum.
