The popularity of iPads is growing and one airline, Qantas, is to pick up on this by providing passengers with iPads to use for their inflight entertainment. The move follows a successful trial of new in-air streaming technology.
The initiative will start towards the end of the year and will be used on the airline’s Boeing 767 planes, with the iPads available to both business and economy classes. It will initially be launched on domestic east coast routes and on flights to Perth.
In other news, Qantas has also been found to be the most on-time major domestic airline by data released by the Federal Government’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics. It’s departure performance for the financial year ending 30th June 2012 was 84.4%, followed by Virgin at 82.9% and Jetstar at 76.4%
