Eurotunnel cuts bookings over summer
May 23rd, 2012 by elisa

Fears of congestion and delays in the Channel Tunnel this summer have prompted operator, Eurotunnel, to cut the number of bookings available.

The company has raised concerns about the lack of immigration staff at the borders as many will be redirected to London’s Heathrow Airport during the Olympic Games. It was reported in The Sunday Times that Groupe Eurotunnel SA expects over four hours of delays to customers of its services this summer, so it has cut its bookings to ease congestion and avoid the situation as best as possible.

The UK Border Agency said it has agreed plans with Eurotunnel and French authorities to cope with busy periods.
