Nearly half of Iberia‘s flights will be cancelled on Wednesday (29th February) as pilots of the Spanish airline go on strike once more.
A total of 131 flights, including the London to Madrid service, will be cancelled. This will be the last of the 5 days of planned walkouts throughout February.
Pilots are in a dispute with parent company International Airlines’ Group over their plans to create a new Spanish low-cost airline, Iberia Express, by March 2012.
British Airways says its services to and from Spain will not be affected and will operate normally, however passengers booked on a BA service operated by Iberia, an Iberia prime flight of BA flight to or from Madrid on the day of the strike may be eligible for a refund.
