Ash cloud update in Australia and New Zealand
June 22nd, 2011 by elisa

The plume of volcanic ash disrupting Australia for the last 24 hours is finally being blown south of the continent, this means that Virgin Australia and Qantas will restore today’s services from Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. The plume looks set to move into the Tasman and no longer affect flights from these cities.

Virgin Australia’s Adelaide services will resume from 7am local time Wednesday, Melbourne from 12pm and Canberra and Sydney from 3pm. Qantas services to and from Adelaide will resume at 5am, services to and from Canberra will resume at 11am and services to and from Hobart will reopen at 5pm.

However, Qantas services to and from New Zealand will be suspended until further notice.
