Passengers will sigh in relief to know that the planned Aer Lingus strikes tomorrow at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports have been called off during last minute talks with the unions IALPA/IMPACT this morning.

Full details of the agreement have not yet been released, but they include agreeing how to manage the busy summer rosters. A statement issued by IALPA said: “The industrial action has been suspended until 1st July, in order to allow time to implement agreed proposals on the summer rosters.”

Industrial action could still take place at Belfast and Gatwick, but talks are continuing as this blog goes live.

Michael Landers of the IMPACT trade union said: “We’ve resolved the Dublin and Cork situation in the short-term.

“But we still have issues related to Belfast and Gatwick pending the outcome of those talks – and so the industrial action scheduled for Belfast on Tuesday is still planned.”
