‘Mutiny’ on board Ryanair flight
February 9th, 2011 by elisa

Ryanair had what was described as a ‘mutiny’ on board one of its flights earlier this week. According to reports, around 100 Belgian students on a flight from Lanzarote to Charleroi became disruptive after one of them was charged extra for excess hand luggage.

All passengers were asked to leave the plane while the group of students were removed by police.

In a statement, Ryanair apologised to the other 66 passengers who had to put up with a three-hour delay.

The airline said its handling agent in Lanzarote was re-accommodating some of the students on later flights; however,  individuals who engaged in disruptive behaviour or refused to follow crew instructions would not be allowed to fly with the airline.
