Qantas flight drops 25,000ft
January 25th, 2011 by elisa

The past few months have not been the best for Qantas in the press, and unfortunately another Qantas aircraft suffered a malfunction causing the jet to plunge 25,000ft.

An air conditioning fault developed on the Adelaide to Melbourne flight, forcing the passengers to grab for their oxygen masks. The crew had to reassure travellers that they were safe as they continued their journey at just 10,000ft in a depressurised cabin before landing safely.

Qantas issued a statement saying there was never any safety issue for the passengers. A spokesman for the airline said: “Emergency services, I believe, were on standby but were not required. Engineers are now assessing the aircraft.”
