No agreement in sight for BA and Unite
August 3rd, 2010 by elisa

No sign of British Airways and Unite coming to an agreement any time soon as talks between the two broke down again yesterday.

BA issued a brief statement: “There was a short meeting at ACAS today and there are plans to meet again next week.” No date has been given at the time of writing.

Unite is threatening to ballot its cabin crew members for strikes starting in September. Meanwhile, BA is training volunteer cabin crew and insists that even in the event of further strikes it is confident it will still be able to operate all its long-haul flights from Heathrow.

Earlier BA chief executive Willie Walsh said: “I want to reach a resolution but we are preparing for further industrial action.”
