Flybe named UK’s best short-haul airline
June 24th, 2010 by elisa

Consumer watchdog Which? Holiday has put Flybe at the top of the UK airline pile after polling 5,745 people. The airline now holds the title of the best UK short-haul airline, beating the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair

The survey asked passengers to rate carriers’ cabin staff, cleanliness, seating, leg room, cabin baggage allowance, checked baggage allowance, manner of dealing with delays and value for money, for which Flybe came top overall.

Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer Mike Rutter said: “Flybe is extremely proud and delighted to have been named the top UK airline in the Which? Holiday popularity poll, especially receiving top marks in the cleanliness and seating arrangements categories.

“I would like to thank our staff who work tirelessly to provide our passengers with first class customer service at affordable prices, and our loyal passengers for helping us to accomplish these fantastic achievements.”

In terms of the results for the other airlines, Easyjet did significantly better than Ryanair, which narrowly missed out on last place which was taken by Thomas Cook Airlines.

Rochelle Turner, Head of Research for Which? Holiday, said: “Flying with a good-quality airline, such as Swiss or Air New Zealand, can really make a difference to your holiday. No one wants their trip abroad to start in a cramped or dirty plane.

“Our rigorous research shows that while the cost of flights is important to customers, it’s things like friendly cabin staff and reasonable luggage allowances that leave a lasting impression.”
