Eurozone popular again
June 5th, 2010 by elisa

The weakening Euro has sparked a rise in interest in Eurozone countries, according to Cheapflights.co.uk.

The website has had a 6% rise in searches around the area for the month of May compared with the same period in 2009.

“The recession of the past year had, last summer, seen travellers favouring non Eurozone, mid-haul destinations like Turkey where they were guaranteed cheaper ground costs as a result of conversion rates,” says Nadine Hallak, travel expert for Cheapflights UK.

“However this year, with the Pound regaining some strength against the Euro, the Eurozone is back in favour, particularly for short breaks.”
