Bmi increases capacity over BA strike period
May 12th, 2010 by elisa

Bmi are to add extra seats to some destinations during the forthcoming series of British Airways strikes (see earlier blog regarding the strikes here).

There will be larger aircraft on certain routes on the airline’s domestic and international network. The move comes as there is growing demand as travellers switch airlines to guarantee that they will get to their destinations.

Seats are available on flights including Heathrow – Aberdeen, Berlin, Cairo, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jeddah, Manchester, Moscow, Riyadh and Vienna.

BA Gold and Silver Executive Club members will be given access to Bmi lounges and BA Executive Club members will also be offered a “status match” into Bmi’s Diamond Club programme and gain double miles until the end of June.

CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said: “As a fresh series of strikes looms, Bmi will continue to offer a better alternative to customers. We are increasing the number of seats available on our services so that customers can guarantee getting to their destinations when they planned to, particularly during the half-term period.”
