Unite meet with Spanish unions over BA-Iberia merger
April 7th, 2010 by elisa

The ongoing dispute between cabin crew and British Airways and its impact on the planned merger with Iberia is being discussed by unions in Madrid. The meeting will include delegates from the Unite union and the International Transport Workers’ Federation that will meet leaders from the transport federations of Spain’s biggest unions, UGT and CC.OO. Between them, UGT and CC.OO members represent 68% of the Iberia workforce.

Graham Stevenson, national organiser for transport at Unite and a member of the ITF’s executive board, together with ITF civil aviation secretary Gabriel Mocho, are attending the meeting in the Spanish capital today (Wednesday). The ITF did not disclose what would be discussed at the gathering.
