I see that Dolby properties have just updated their listing on the site to show even more low-priced villas for sale actually: http://villaseek.com/trade_adverts/sales/USA/dolby_A2.html

I agree with @michaelcolsten --- no matter how cheap or expensive the villa is, a family holiday to Florida is still going to end up pretty expensive --- people will choose the villa based on a whole range of factors --- and I can't see why paying less for a villa would make a holidaymaker treat it any differently.

Firstly it is up to the individual to charge. The consumers have thousands of choices compared with a few years ago, and therefore one has to be competitive.

Another factor to consider is that insurance companies charge a heavy preminium if a property in left empty for X weeks or refuse to insure you.

The cost of flying to the USA is now very expensive, in August airlines are charging around £900 for a ticket to Orlando. Whereas to fly to Spain, the airfares are just a faction also you have over choices, to drive, go by coach or train.

In my opinion the cost of one pays for hiring a villa has nothing to do with the way people will treat it. Its to do with ones up bringin.

So your angry owner was "shocked to see that it was full of bargain basement Florida villas whose owners are literally giving their beautiful homes away."
I've looked through the magazine and can't see any homes being literally given away, so could you ask this person to pass on the names of these generous owners, as I quite fancy a free house in Florida.
