As the UK is gripped in a ‘big freeze’ there have been severe delays and cancellations at the majority of UK airports. At the time of writing this blog there appears to be a respite in the snowy weather across much of the country; therefore after checking the major airports’ official websites, most are reporting that they are open and resuming services on Thursday 7th January.
These airports include:
Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford and Exeter.
It is advised to check with the airline that you are due to fly with before going to the airport to avoid disappointment if your flight is cancelled. If your flight is not delayed or cancelled then it is also advised to allow for possible long delays when planning your journey to the airport due to poor weather affecting public transport and road conditions.
