Jet2.com aims to be the largest scheduled leisure carrier from Manchester airport next summer with the addition of four new routes.

The  budget carrier will serve nine new destinations from Summer next year, including Dubrovnik, Split, Reus on the Costa Dorada and Prague. This takes the total number of routes from Manchester up to 28.

There will be an increase in Aircraft at the North West base with 140,000 extra seats for summer 2010, up 20% on this year. This gives a total of one million seats a year available from Manchester.

Dubrovnik will be served twice a week from 29th April with fares starting at £49.99 one way including taxes. Split will also have two flights a week from 8th May with identical prices. Reus gets two flights a week starting from May 25 with fares from £29.99 one way. Prague fares start at £19.99 with four flights a week from 1st April.

The airline’s chief executive Philip Meeson said Jet2.com was “bucking the trend of other airlines” by significantly increasing services across its bases.

“Our continued investment will see us increase our fleet at Manchester quite significantly and create hundreds of new jobs both at the airport and within the tourism industry as a whole,” he said.
